How to Care for a Cat's or Dog's Paws
Cats may be cute, I personally have a cat and know him that well, I can just tell when something is wrong. Sometimes cats can be very...Edgy,
One problem that springs to mind is the beloved cats paws.
I'm not here to tell you what to do if something is wrong, just how prevent such a thing. Read these steps.
Steps
- 1. cats sometimes get bits of carpet tangled in their claws, and my cat gets very agitated if such a thing occurs, the first action is to untangle it GENTLY, even if the cat protests it is important to untangle it, as it may cause pain, and cuts on the cats paws.
- 2. cats tend to fight regularly, and there are a lot of injurys sustained to the paws. Little scratches and the like are minor and must be disinfected first, TCP liquid is useful for this. Again, the cat may protest but you must disinfect it to stop disease transmitted by cats.
- 3. If any serious injurys are present immeadiately take your feline friend to a vet.
- 4.The most important step: If a cat has been fighting and you know about it, check your cat every day for a month, as abscesses can occur. these are visible as small pockets filled with blood and puss, take your cat to a vet ASAP, as these can be fatal if left. my cat had one on its spine, as a result of fighting, It nearly died.
- I hope i helped, and good luck for all of you felines with problems.
Tips
- Always research what symptoms your cat has before you treat it.
- Try not to contaminate open wounds with germs, and bandage any wounds that you notice.
- always seek advice from a doctor before treatment.
Warnings
- never touch an abscess on a cat, as the pain is really unbearable( equivalent to being stabbed)
- wash hands before treatment of wounds.
